It’s the single biggest thing that decides what an iPad repair costs, and most people don’t know it until they’re standing at the counter.
On the standard iPads — the iPad 5, 6, the 10.2-inch 7 / 8 / 9, iPad 10 and iPad 11 — plus the iPad Mini 5, the front glass and the display underneath it are two separate parts. If only the glass is cracked and the picture underneath is still perfect, we replace just the glass and you pay the lower price. If the display itself is damaged too, that gets replaced, and on those models our display price already includes a new touchscreen.
On every iPad Pro and every iPad Air, the glass and display are bonded into a single assembly at the factory. There’s no way to separate them, so any crack means the whole assembly is replaced — which is why those numbers are higher. We work out which one you need during the free diagnostic, before you commit to anything.

How it works
- Bring it in — no appointment needed. We’re a walk-in shop on Lexington St in Manor. If you’d rather check first, call or text and we’ll talk it through.
- Free diagnostic, then a real number. We find out whether you need glass, a display, or both, and quote the exact price. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay.
- Most iPads are ready same day or next day. iPad screens are glued down and have to be heated, separated and re-sealed properly, so they take a little longer than a phone. We’d rather do it right than hand you back a screen that lifts in a month.

Common questions
How much does it cost to fix a cracked iPad screen?
It depends on your model and on whether the display underneath survived the drop. Glass-only repairs on the standard iPads start at $109.99. A full display assembly on an iPad Air or Pro runs from $179.99 up to $379.99 depending on the model. The free diagnostic tells us which one you actually need, and we quote the exact price before we start.
How long does an iPad repair take?
Longer than a phone, and for a good reason. iPad screens are bonded to the frame with adhesive that has to be heated, cut through carefully, cleaned off and then re-sealed. Plan on same-day to next-day for common models. We’ll give you a real time frame when you drop it off rather than a guess.
Will I lose my photos, apps or notes?
No. Screen, battery and charging port repairs don’t touch your storage. We still suggest backing up to iCloud or a computer beforehand — that’s just sensible with any device that’s already damaged.
My iPad taps things by itself. Can that be fixed?
Usually, yes. An iPad that opens apps or types on its own almost always has a failing digitizer, often after a drop or from a pressure crack you can barely see. Replacing the touchscreen fixes it. Occasionally it’s a cheap charging cable feeding noise into the panel, or a swollen battery pressing on it from behind — which is exactly what the free diagnostic is for.
Is it worth fixing an older iPad?
Often, yes. An iPad 7 or 8 with a fresh screen is still a perfectly good couch, kitchen or kid’s iPad, and a $129 repair beats a $400 replacement comfortably. If we think the repair genuinely isn’t worth the money for your model, we’ll say so — we’d rather tell you straight than take the job.
Do you fix iPad batteries and charging ports?
Yes. Charging port repairs are $139 on most iPad models. iPad batteries are quoted by model since the packs vary so much — call or text us what you’ve got and we’ll price it the same day. And before you assume the port is dead: compacted pocket lint is a very common cause, and a $65 deep clean often solves it outright.
Do I need an appointment?
No. We’re a walk-in shop at 209 Lexington St in Manor, open Monday through Friday 10am–7pm and Saturday 10am–5pm, closed Sunday. Diagnostics are free, and if we can’t fix it there’s no charge.
What happens if you can’t fix it?
Then you don’t pay. The free diagnostic covers the time we spend figuring out what’s wrong, and you’re only ever charged for a repair that actually works.
